PriestView is a family owned and operated hunting preserve located at the foot of the Priest Mountain in rural Nelson County Virginia. Our preserve has developed out of a family tradition of upland hunting, and raising Brittanys and quail. We now provide the same relaxed, safe enjoyment for hunters of all levels of experience right in the heart of Central Virginia. Hunt quail, pheasant, and chukar using your dogs or ours.
PriestView Hunting Preserve invites you to come out and experience Virginia's rustic, upland hunting. We offer magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a challenging hunt, and a great activity for family, friends, or colleagues.
We provide a hunting experience for veteran hunters and new sportsmen alike. Whether this is an old tradition or new adventure for you, come to the mountains and enjoy a warm-up clay shoot and hunt with seasoned guides.
Quail, pheasant, and chukar are available for purchase to those who prefer to hunt on their own land, use them for dog training.
Come out and enjoy the full upland experience of trained dogs, fields of birds, and exceptional views. Hunting season at PriestView is from September through April. We are open weekends and holidays only.
We offer hunting in a variety of settings, including flat fields for hunters with limited mobility. The Preserve is 460 acres covering large open fields, rolling terrain, and wooded areas. Hunts are available for individuals and small parties with a maximum of 4 persons. A larger group is welcome to hunt as divided groups in separate fields.
Hunters will be required to sign our Safety Guidelines and Release Form.
Hunters need to have a valid Virginia Hunting License. Out of state hunters must obtain a Non-Resident Shooting Preserve License. More information regarding Virginia Hunting Licensure is available.
Hunters need to bring their gun and ammunition in appropriate gauge. (A #7½ or #8 shot is recommended for quail and chukar, and #6 shot is recommended for pheasant hunting.) Blaze orange vest or hat is required. Your safety is our primary concern.
